During this week, Punta Mita is gearing up for top-tier golf as the 15th Aeromexico Tournament gets underway, featuring former professional golfer Lorena Ochoa. The event is set to take place at the Pacific Golf Course, situated to the north of Banderas Bay in the Riviera Nayarit.
The tournament, scheduled from September 27th to 29th, received its official introduction on Monday at the St. Regis hotel in Mexico City. Lorena Ochoa, the former number one ranked LPGA player, and Juan Enrique Suárez del Real Tostado, Nayarit’s Secretary of Tourism, were present at the event.
This annual gathering has a philanthropic mission: to raise funds for the education of disadvantaged children in Mexico. It does so through support from the Lorena Ochoa Foundation, also known as La Barranca, and the Becar Foundation, which offers scholarships and educational assistance to children and young people throughout the country.
Andrés Castañeda, Digital Marketing Manager at Aeromexico, is optimistic about achieving a new fundraising milestone for this 15th edition of the golf tournament, surpassing the charitable contributions made in the previous three decades.
