Mismaloya is a small Mexican village on the southern shore of the Bay of Banderas.  It is well known for being the selected location of the iconic 1963 movie “The Night of the Iguana,” featuring Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor.  Mismaloya is a well-liked vacation spot for travellers who want to take in the beach, go snorkelling or scuba diving, or experience the nearby jungle because it is home to several beach resorts and boutique hotels.  Also accessible by boat is the adjacent marine reserve and the rock formation known as Los Arcos.
