New direct flight Prague – Puerto Vallarta will begin operations

The state of Jalisco will receive a significant boost in its tourism sector with the opening of a new direct flight from Europe to Puerto Vallarta. Announced by the Secretary of Tourism, Vanessa Pérez Lamas, this service operated by DER Touristik will connect the city of Prague with Puerto Vallarta every Tuesday from October of this year until April 2025. This charter flight aims to specifically attract travelers from the major cities of the Czech Republic, such as Prague, Brno, and Ostrava.

In collaboration with DER Touristik, 12 hotels in Puerto Vallarta and one in Nayarit have partnered to offer a comprehensive experience to tourists arriving through this new route. Participating hotels include renowned names such as Vamar, The Westin, Sheraton, Buenaventura, Hacienda Buenaventura, Krystal / Krystal Grand Puerto Vallarta, Sunscape, Dreams / Secret Puerto Vallarta, Hoteles Plaza, Canto del Sol, Delfin, Crown, and Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta.

DER Touristik, a German company, sees great potential in this route to attract not only tourists from the Czech Republic but also from neighboring countries such as Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and Austria. This strategic focus on the European market reflects confidence in Puerto Vallarta’s appeal as an international tourist destination.

The increase in air connectivity in Puerto Vallarta is evident with its current 49 domestic and international routes. During the year 2023, the city saw a significant increase in its connections, adding destinations such as Abbotsford, Guadalajara, Los Angeles, Culiacán, Toronto, Calgary, Kitchener-Waterloo, Las Vegas, and Prince George. Additionally, in the current year, a new connection was established with Mexico City, with flights to the Felipe Ángeles International Airport, underscoring the city’s continued commitment to the expansion and diversification of its tourist market.
