According to information from the National Port Administration (Asipona) of this city, Puerto Vallarta saw more than 350,000 people arrive through 112 cruises in the first semester of this year, surpassing the numbers from the same time in 2022.
On the other hand, Puerto Vallarta is still experiencing a slow cruise season, with just 5 arrivals anticipated this month. Nevertheless, compared to the previous year, there are more ships and passengers.
According to Asipona’s statistics for Puerto Vallarta, 32 cruises came in January of this year with slightly over 90,000 passengers, while 19 ships carried more over 60,000 passengers in February. This administration welcomed 72,537 guests on 22 ships in March.
With 62,165 tourists travelling on 21 cruises in April, the high season was still in full swing. However, in May, there were only about 42,000 passengers travelling on 13 ships, and by June, there were only 5 ships and 25,500 passengers overall.
Puerto Vallarta welcomed 95 ships and about 198,000 passengers in the first half of 2022, a notable difference. According to the General Ports Directorate, 1,406 cruises were brought into the nation from January through May of this year, a rise of 12 percent on a yearly basis.
The research states that 1,248 vessels arrived over the same time period in 2022. Between January and May, there were 4,339,000 people who entered the nation via cruises, a rise of 79.7 percent.
