Puerto Vallarta has surpassed the 6 million mark for passengers arriving by air

During November of this year, the Puerto Vallarta International Airport experienced passenger traffic, both domestic and international, reaching the figure of 591,400, representing a 3.7% increase compared to the same period in 2022. According to the monthly report from the Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), this destination has already welcomed more than 6 million visitors in the first 11 months of the year.

The report indicates that, on a national level, the airport registered 220,000 passengers last month, showing a slight decrease of 3.6% compared to 2022. However, in the cumulative period from January to November, the number of domestic visitors exceeds 2,264,000, reflecting a growth of 9.4%.

Regarding the international market, passenger traffic in January was 371,400, compared to 341,800 from the previous year, totaling more than 3,460,000 tourists in the first 11 months of the year, representing a growth of 10.4% compared to 2022.

On a national level, in November 2023, the 12 Mexican airports operated by GAP experienced a 0.4% increase in total passenger traffic compared to the same month the previous year. The airports of Los Cabos and Puerto Vallarta showed increases of 4.3% and 3.7%, respectively, compared to November 2022.

Regarding the offered seating capacity, November 2023 saw a decrease of 2.5% compared to November 2022, due to preventive checks on the Pratt & Whitney engines of the Airbus A320neo and A321neo aircraft family. Despite this, the occupancy factor increased from 80.2% in November 2022 to 82.8% in November 2023.
